We had such a wonderful Easter this year with the boys. The weather wasn't the best, but it did cooperate long enough for us to do a couple of egg hunts outside with the boys. Usually Easter weekend seems to be nice weather, but it was kind of rainy and windy with only a little bit of sunshine in-between.
I got the Easter stuff out about tuesday or wednesday, and Owen decided he's conduct his own egg hunts around the house and outside if it was nice. This has been going on for days. Even on the days where the boys did a real egg hunt, we'd come home and he'd be hiding eggs around the house and then finding them on his own. It has been so funny to watch but he is highly entertained by it, so I figured why not.
Easter morning, the boys woke up and searched for their Easter baskets. Brad and I had fun on saturday night putting their baskets together with little toys and candies. We put a picture of Christ in each basket and talked about Jesus when we tucked them in bed. Easter morning we read the story of Christ's death and resurrection. We have the kids scriptures on our ipads with pictures that go along with the stories. Owen especially looks foreword to reading scriptures with us before bed.
Church was wonderful too. I love seeing everyone in their pretty spring/Easter dresses and outfits. And our Easter program was so beautiful. I got to sing a solo and be in the choir this time for the program. It made it seem more spiritual since I was involved in the music. And I put together a fun Easter singing time together for the primary kids.
We also had a wonderful dinner with Brad's Mom and Step-Dad. My sister is also staying in Fernley, visiting from Arizona, and came to spend church with us. It was a great to visit with everyone and enjoy the afternoon together.

Owen did a great job of helping me frost the cookies

Dying eggs with friends
Owen's works of art
Chase had fun getting messy
He didn't seem to know what to do with the egg after it was all blue
The real egg hunt! The little kids got to go outside first so the older kids were anxiously waiting for their turn to go outside and find the hidden eggs.
Chase did a great job since he had already been practicing with big brother all week. hehe
Hey! Are you guys looking for the same things I'm looking for?
My cute little Easter egg hunter
Owen learned to be fast or someone else would snatch the egg up first!
The race is on!
Chase abandoned the hunt after a while for something better, a slide!
