Our anniversary was amazing! We've never spoiled ourselves so much, it was awesome! We ate tons of good food, got great tans playing at the beach, went shopping, stayed up late and slept in till we felt like getting up. It was heaven! We were like two little kids. It was fun, romantic and goofy. Unfortunately we came home to news of my car needing a new engine and Chase being super sick. But we enjoyed it while it lasted and then came home and reality had to hit us once again.
We loved the hotel we stayed at. It was clean, beautiful and of course, expensive! I would totally recommend it if you're in the area. It was close to everything! And it was quiet and the staff was really nice. Some pictures we took around the place. We really enjoyed the spa and pool and the breakfast was amazing!
Wednesday night we didn't do too much, we just got settled in to our hotel room and checked the place out. We had an amazing room on the top floor with a view of the water and the city skyline.
Thursday we spent all day sleeping and other classified stuff (wink wink) and then went to the temple and to a cute little sushi restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. After sushi we drove around until we found a red box and came back to the hotel. It was so pretty outside on the patio area when we got back, so we went outside around the fire pit and pool area to enjoy it and ended up taking some pictures of us being our goofy selves.
Friday was my favorite day, we spent the day at mission beach which was about five miles from us. We rented cruisers and biked around and shopped at the cute little shops along the boardwalk. We ate lunch at this cool restaurant on the second story patio overlooking the beach. It was really good! Then we returned the bikes and jumped in the ocean and body surfed. We played frisbee and enjoyed the sun until about 4:30 and then went back to the hotel to get cleaned up.
We met up with Brad's brother and his date later and spent the evening at Belmont park. We rode the roller coaster and played in the arcade and ate cotton candy like we were five all over again. We went back to the hotel when we were done to jump in the hot tub but they closed it already. So we just hung out at the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. We hung out with Todd and his date till pretty late. So we were pretty tired, but it was a super fun day!

We Really enjoyed our yummy breakfasts each morning. They didn't have room service for breakfast, so we'd sleep until just before they'd close the restaurant in the morning then throw on some clothes and head downstairs to load up a room service tray with breakfast goods. It was awesome! I don't think we ever got up (other than to get breakfast) before noon. haha!

Saturday came way too fast, it was our last real day there. So we spent the day at the beach with Brad's dad and brother. The beach's in La Jolla were crazy crowded! It was hard to find a good spot to set up our stuff. But the water was way cleaner and it was a lot prettier than mission beach. We played on the boogie boards and swam a bunch and then we relaxed and got some more sun.
After a full day playing on the beach we went to eat at this amazing seafood/mexican place. It was sooo stinking good and expensive! After dinner we walked around the shops at old town and went through the new Church's visitor's center there. We were too late to take the tour but we got to check out the cool design and look around some of the rooms.

We had a really wonderful anniversary! And we'll look foreword to doing something big again in another five years! haha
